This is it, the WECA Boys Hockey Program. A great place for your boy to learn the game of hockey, team play and make new friends all within a fun environment. No previous hockey experience required.
Season: Mid October 2016 to End of February 2017 – (TBC)
Times: Saturday and Sunday morning ice times (TBC)

How does registration work?
Registration is done via an online registration process. Registration will be open to returning families first.
New families may register after that via the same methods. We will be accepting credit card registration only through the online process.
How will I know when registration is on?
Join our mailing list using the link above. This is the best way to get information when it comes out.
Is there a limit to the amount of boys the program will take?
Yes, We have only so much ice time. We will take registrations in until we are full. The remaining registrations will be on the waiting list. There is no waiting list until registration has is full.
How much does the program cost?
For the 2016/2017 season the program is estimated to be $195-$220/child. Our goal is to be consistent with that price however the final number won’t be out until closer to Sept. There are no required volunteer commitments however our entire program is run by volunteers and parents. There are emails that go out regarding volunteers needed and we ask that parents help to share the load.
How long does the program run?
The program runs from mid/late Oct to usually the end of Feb. We have a wrap up party in early March and we take a short break around Christmas. The final schedule will be complete for registration.
What equipment do I need?
For the safety of all children FULL hockey equipment is REQUIRED. This includes: CSA approved helmet with full cage, mouth guard (mouth guards protect against concussions & are mandatory),shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin pads, hockey socks, hockey skates, hockey pants, hockey stick, sports cup and neck guard. Jerseys are supplied by the program however you must also supply hockey socks.
What are the ages?
We accept boys ages 5-12. Their birth year needs to be between 2004 and 2011. Sorry no acceptions.
How are the ice time groups decided upon?
There are several factors in splitting up the boys in the respective ice times. We look at age first then skill level. We also do our best to combine boys based on the requested friends they list in their registration. We also look at family units and try to do our best to allow for families to not be at the rink longer than they need to be. These decisions are made after registration by our core coaching leadership group. Sometimes a player may need to be moved after the season has started because of skill level or request but we try to reduce these to a minimum.
